I’d like to talk this through, to help me decide whether I want to go ahead – is this possible?
Of course! Everyone has different thoughts and feelings about Boudoir photography and how it would work for them. Feel free to email me at simon@simonrevill.com or give me a call on 01246 853600 or 07595 023154. Whenever a booking is made, I always talk it through with the client before the session anyway, to get a good idea of their personality, how they see themselves and what kind of images they are after.
Who will be at the photo session?
I take the pictures myself, and I use a female hair and makeup stylist unless you decide to do your own hair and makeup.
I like the idea but I’m a little bit nervous. Can I bring a friend?
Of course you can bring along a friend to bolster your confidence and share the fun of the experience. It often helps to have someone with you to help decide on the most flattering outfits and poses. Sometimes a group of girls will book together and all have their own Boudoir Kisses sessions.

How is this different from ‘glamour’ photography?
A Boudoir Kisses photo session isn’t just about being sexy, it’s about feeling comfortable with your femininity and experimenting with different styles, such as ‘fifties pin-up’ or ‘Hollywood siren’. Whether as a treat for a loved one or a confidence boost for yourself, a Boudoir photo session is good fun, and the end results are stunning.
Are the photos only done in a studio? Or can I have them taken at my home?
It’s up to you whether you come to my studio near Chesterfield, Derbyshire, or whether we set up the shoot in your own home or another venue of your choosing.
How far will you travel?
Although I’m based in Derbyshire, I travel all over the UK for wedding photography, so please do check with me – I may be in your area.
What should I bring to the shoot?
It’s always best to bring too much rather than too little to the photo shoot. Any clothes and props that make you feel sexy, flirty and fun are good. Sparkly jewellery, glamorous lingerie, corsets, stockings and killer heels always work well, but you might prefer an off-the-shoulder top, a man’s shirt or even a military jacket and hat. Whatever feels right for you.
How long is the shoot and how much does it cost?
I offer several different packages, ranging from a 1-2 hour ‘Look At Me!’ shoot to a 3 hour ‘You Deserve It All’ shoot. See the separate Boudoir price list, under the ‘prices’ heading of the website for all the details.
Can I purchase a Boudoir Kisses collection as a gift?
Of course! If you are wanting to surprise a loved one with the gift of a session – then give me a call and I can provide gift certificates for any of the collections listed.
How far in advance should I book my Boudoir photography?
I can take bookings up to 6 months in advance, and if you are booking a Boudoir session as part of a wedding package we can arrange it up to 18 months ahead.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, I take a deposit of 50% to secure the booking. The balance is due any time up to the start of the session and I accept bank transfers, cheques or cash.
Are the photos in colour or black and white?
Because I take digital images, it is possible to have either colour or black and white versions of the same images, and I often provide a mix of the two depending on which works best for each picture.
What pictures will I get at the end?
Depending on which package you choose, you could have a set of prints, digital images on a DVD, a beautiful album a stunning wall canvas, or all of the above! See the Boudoir pricelist for details.
Do you re-touch or airbrush the pictures at all?
I use all the skills I have learned over the years to ensure that you look amazing. Mostly this involves technical skills such as lighting, lenses and exposures, but it’s also about making sure you feel relaxed and happy. If you like, I can make minor enhancements such as whitening teeth and removing blemishes or scars. These are all very subtle changes, and the pictures will still be recognisable images of you – showing you at your very best.
How should I prepare for my Boudoir Kisses session?
One of the best things you can do is to get a good night’s sleep, so that you are looking and feeling fresh on the day. You could also consider getting a manicure and perhaps a cut and colour, but be very careful with tanning products because streaky tan marks are very difficult to airbrush. The best clothes to wear on the day are loose fitting, so as to avoid pinch marks on the skin.
Will I have full control of the pictures?
Yes, your Boudoir Kisses images will be totally secure and we never use them without your permission. All re-touching and printing is done in the studio, so the pictures do not go anywhere else. It’s always great when a client lets us show their pictures in our online portfolio because it gives others a good idea of what can be achieved.
What happens if I cancel the session?
Depending on how much notice you give, and whether you are cancelling or just postponing the session, you may lose your deposit.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes, if you book a Boudoir session as part of your wedding package, you get a 30% discount, and if you agree to show some of your pictures in my online portfolio there is a 10% discount.
