The Maynard Arms Wedding Photography | Helen and Robert

A glorious day greeted me on Friday for the wedding of Helen and Robert which was held at The Maynard Arms which is a great location for weddings and wedding photography. So we had sun and a lovely wedding venue and a great couple !

I started at Helen’s parents in Rotherham to get some shots of all the preparations prior to the ceremony and everyone was very relaxed. Helen was ready in plenty of time for the 1.30 ceremony at the Maynard and the sun was still shining !

The ceremony organisation was first class as it always is with the staff at The Maynard and everything for the day ran like clockwork. We even had enough time before the wedding breakfast for a quick trip to Padley Gorge for some bride and groom portraits.

Guests were in a party mood and this continued throughout the day – we left as the evening celebrations were getting into full swing.

Redhouse Barns Wedding Photography | Sally and Neil

Yesterday I was down in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire at Redhouse Barns in Stoke Prior, for the wedding of Sally and Neil. I always knew from first meeting these two that it would be a fun day and I wasn’t wrong. I was joined for the day by Matt who proved a great asset as we had over 120 guests and there was always something happening!

I started out covering preparations with Sally and her bridesmaids and then it was on to Redhouse Barns for the ceremony and everything was superbly organised by Jane and Jeremy before we got there – and then the day itself was run brilliantly by Andy who always makes this one of my favourite Worcestershire wedding venues to work at!

After the ceremony there was time for some portraits and family groups before celebrations continued with the wedding breakfast and some superb wedding speeches. We also had cocktails for all the guests (Sally is rather fond of them according to Neil) a caricaturist, live music and even an impromptu magician.

We left after the first dance as Sally was taking command of the dance floor

Elvetham Hotel Hampshire Wedding photography | Christina and Ben

Sunday saw me travelling down to The Elvetham Hotel, Hampshire to join a good friend and colleague Ian Good, for the wedding photography of Christina and Ben. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful Autumn day.

We started with Christina for preparation coverage and she was very relaxed and really enjoying the wedding build up, then Ben and family arrived and were again very relaxed. Things did start to get a little tense when the registrars were delayed for nearly an hour but the hotel management and staff were superb and everyone was very well looked after …..

The ceremony was fantastic with a solo performance by Ben’s brother which everyone loved, then it was on with the celebrations and time seemed to race by. We did a few portraits in the hotel grounds together with some family groups and it was time for the wedding breakfast.

I left as the evening celebrations were getting underway after having a great day

Pre Wedding Photography | Becci and Luke

Yesterday I had great fun meeting up with Becci and Luke who are to be married at the Casa Hotel next month. We decided to have a wander round Tapton Park in Chesterfield for their engagement photography session, as we will come here on the wedding day proper for some for the Bride and Groom portraits.

Both Becci and Luke seemed to enjoy the session and it is a great relaxer for couples as they get to see what it is like to be in the spotlight, for many this is the first time that they have had professional photographs taken, and for some this can be a little daunting.

Couples get to choose a favourite engagement photograph and I have it enlarged and mounted for them to use as a guest signing mat on their wedding day.

So below are a few from the session, which shows just how much ground you can cover in 30 minutes, ample time for your wedding portraits and means that you are back enjoying the day with friends and family rather than spending hours with your photographer.

Chesterfield Engagement Photography | James and Natalie

I joined James and Natalie for their engagement photography session at Stanton Moor …. it was a beautiful Autumn afternoon and we had a walk round the area whilst chatting about their wedding next month and taking a few pre wedding photographs. Both were very relaxed and didn’t really need the practice session!

Now do we hope for some snow on their big day ? the jury is out on that one as I wouldn’t fancy trying to get out of the village if we do have some of the white stuff, it would make for some interesting picture no doubt!

So here are a few from our session and Jmaes and Natalie will pick one to have enlarged and mounted as a guest signing mat.
