Prestwold Hall Wedding Photography | Alice and Matt

For once this year yesterday proved to be pretty much rain free for the wedding of Alice and Matt at the beautiful St Andrews Church Prestwold. The day was planned down to the last detail – not saying Alice was a control freak, but I think everyone involved with the day had had numerous emails – and some of them at some very strange times! Even the Ushers were armed with walkie talkies.

However all the planning paid off and the church service was beautiful and then it was a short dash to Prestwold Hall which is a stunning wedding venue and only 150 yds from the church. Staff were superb and nothing was left to chance which meant that the celebrations went off without a hitch.

Threatening weather provided some interesting wedding photography, but the day was a mixture of bright sun and dark clouds. Alice and Matt were all smiles and were really enjoying themselves. When we left they had just finished a rather spectacular dance routine , to the surprise of their guests, and were in full party mood !

Garry Brookes - What a brilliant, stunning collection. The best wedding photographs I have ever seen….. but how to choose the best from such excellence? If it’s for Matt & Alice, I must go for 26. That dance had to be seen to be believed, and the photo sums it all up – so in love!!

Losehill House Hotel Wedding Photography | Tracy and Paul

Yesterday saw me in the picturesque Derbyshire Village of Great Hucklow for the wedding of Tracy and Paul at the Old Chapel. Everything was very relaxed with guests walking to the chapel from the local pub and for once it was a dry start to proceedings.

I started at the beautiful wedding venue of Losehill House Hotel where Tracy and bridesmaids were getting ready. Again everything was calm and organised … well everyone seemed to have at least TWO lists done by a very well prepared Tracy ….

The service at the chapel was very relaxed and a real fun occasion – a quick walk through teh village for a couple of pictures infront of Tracy and Paul’s house and then it was off to the reception …. THEN it started to rain ! We still managed to get everyone organised for group shots and after a drink and a warm Tracy and Paul were off on a walk round Losehill for some wedding photographs and a time to relax.

The staff and service was as expected, excellent and everything ran like clockwork.

I left after the first dance and the party was just getting started.

Van Dyk Derbyshire Wedding Photography | Danielle and Luke

Friday was the wedding of Danielle and Luke at the beautiful St Lawrence Church in Whitwell Derbyshire followed by a reception at Hotel Van Dyk. Again it was another week where fingers were crossed for the weather !

I started at Danielle’s house for preparation and all was very calm and Danielle was running to schedule (not that she is a control freak or anything) so there ws no chance of us being late. I then went to the church to meet up with Luke, who again was all smiles and no nerves !

After a great ceremony we came outside and were greeted by RAIN … no problem as all the guests didn’t mind and we still got the group shots done and completed, then we were off to the reception for the celebrations to continue. The weather didn’t play ball and the rain started coming down heavier … however we were helped by the fact that Danielle had a two glass limit for alcohol so didn’t mind in the slightest about the rain and outside we went for some wedding photographs.

The staff were great and everything ran like clockwork and I left them as the disco was getting going and the guests were up on the dance floor to party the night away.

Roche Abbey Engagement Photography | Rachel and Daniel

Today I was at Roche Abbey for a pre wedding / engagement session with Rachel and Daniel who are to be married in June. For once it seemed that the weather would behave and dare I say it we nearly had some sunshine! Rachel and Daniel were great and very relaxed so I’m sure their wedding photography on the day will be a breeze.
